This is a variation on the oil and balsamic vinegar which is so popular at the moment. This version offers something a little more healthy and different. Plus it makes a makes a healthy alternative to butter.
It can also make up the basis of a salad dressing by whisking all the ingredients together and adding garlic or fresh herbs.
Serve the dipping oil in a separate dish with fresh warm bread as a starter, a snack or as an accompaniment.
Ingredients
4 Tablespoons of mild (do check this on the label, some oils can be very ‘robust’!) extra virgin olive oil.
Sieved juice of a lemon
½ teaspoon of runny honey
Fresh Black pepper
Method
Put the lemon and honey into a bowl and whisk together.
Put the oil into a dipping dish and then gently pour the lemon and honey mixture into the middle of the dish.
Grind a little black pepper on the top to finish
