Unfortunately we do not offer health advice. However your doctor or dietician maybe be able to offer some personalised suggestions. Alternatively read what our guest blogger has to say.

I am an IBS sufferer and am always interested in getting new information about this issue. I have suffered for many years and have tried all sorts of medications and remedies, together with food allergy testing and absolutely nothing has helped. However, I have, on my own, found a solution that actually helps me get through the day. My main issue has always been the pain and fatigue which occurs on a daily basis from around 2:00pm and can last for the remainder of the day. What I have found that if I don't have breakfast and don't eat anything until, say, 11:00am I don't get the IBS symptoms either at all or only slightly. The very minute I decide to have breakfast I suffer severely in the usual way. Have you ever come across this before? It helps me no end.

That's a great idea. It's a skill we have all forgotten how to use that appears to offer huge benefits. It's worth persevering; I shall not be beaten!!

Oh no! Keep at it I say! It's the cheap way of keeping your gut healthy.....What I'm not sure about is whether or not, most cultured veggies are *supposed* to smell revolting or not.... Rejuvelac is FOUL, but tastes different and is very good for you... Hmmm.... We need to get a fermenting club going!

Actually that is a good point Claire. However, the diet did seem to sustain him once he was back at school once a few more modifications were made. This is the issue though; unfortunately it is almost impossible to attribute improvements to diet alone as there many factors in just living! Hence the reason why there is not acknowledgement regarding its value.

As someone who has suffered from migraines since the age of 4, I wondered if stress played a part in the boy's migraines ie. he was migraine free throughout the summer holidays but began to suffer again when he returned to school.
